Another List of Quick Meal Themed Cookbooks

I recently discussed a great list of cookbooks for quick and easy meal preparation. If being listed more than once on one of these lists is any indication of quality, then we have a few contenders. Another "Cookbook Roundup" was published today, this time in the Miami Herald, that mentions several of the same cookbooks. Among the oft mentioned are Real Simple Meals Made Easy, by the Editors of Real Simple Magazine, Rachael Ray's Express Lane Meals, The 5:30 Challenge: 5 Ingredients, 30 Minutes, Dinner on the Table, by Jeanne Besser and Susan Puckett, and Pillsbury Fix It Fast: Dinner Ready in 25 Minutes or Less.

One new cookbook on the list is Moosewood Restaurant: Simple Suppers, Fresh Ideas for the Weeknight Table, by the Moosewood Collective. According to the review: "This volume, filled with 150 recipes for busy cooks, aims to deliver fresh, imaginative, healthy, quickly prepared dishes so families and friends can sit down at the dinner table together year-round." Another new edition is Ciao Italia Pronto!, 30-Minute Recipes From an Italian Kitchen, by Mary Ann Esposito. Mary Ann Esposito is the host of PBS' Ciao Italia and "has designed the more than 70 recipes to get you organized and in and out of the kitchen with little effort but without compromising the authenticity and taste of Italian food. Cook with in-season fruits and vegetables and take advantage of ready-cut varieties, she advises."

I am leaning towards trying the 5:30 challenge because (a) it only costs 10 bucks and (b) my cousin recommends it and I trust her judgment!
