Future Rachael Ray Cookbooks

Now there are not one, not two, but three, new Rachael Ray cookbooks on the horizon. All are scheduled for publication this fall but only one looks like it is full of entirely new recipes.

The first book, to be released on October 25, 2006, is Rachael Ray's Open House Cookbook: Over 200 Recipes for Easy Entertaining. This is an update of one of her first cookbooks, which is now out of print and only available for exorbinant prices. According to Amazon, this new update will include "a fabulous collection of tempting, easy recipes to entertain a crowd." Could that description be more vague? (You have to imagine Chandler Bing saying that for it to be funny.)

The next one will release on November 7, 2006, entitled 2, 4, 6, 8: 30-Minute Meals for Couples or Crowds. There is a dearth of information about this one. All I can tell is that it will be 256 pages, which seems like a nice, thick book to me. I would love recipes for two (I am not so good at math, even when it means cutting something in half). Is it sad that I am excited about the color of the cover, too? It will look really cute on my kitchen counter as part of my Rachael Ray cookbook collection. Sad, but true.

The last to be released in an update of one of Rachael's out of print cookbooks, the new title is Classic 30-Minute Meals: The All-Occasion Cookbook. It will release on November 25, 2006. This will be the first Rachael Ray book in hardcover, unless you count Cooking Rocks! (hercookbook for kids), which wasn't really hardcover, it was more like a binder. There's a short description for this one: "An outstanding collection of Rachael Ray's best 30-Minute Meals, now in one volume. Features over 150 meals selected from 8 of our best-selling titles." So this will be more like a greatest hits album than a new cookbook (but don't think I won't buy it anyways).

  1. Dear Lord, the woman is on crack to be putting out this many. Or she has a staff of many interns. Either way, it's crazy. LOL

  2. Only one of them has original recipes, so I guess we should cut her some slack. But, yes. It is crazy.
