Rachael Ray Roundup

Let's not forget that even though the media is all abuzz about Rachael Ray, as if they just discovered her, we Rachael Ray fans are still making her recipes, testing her travel picks, and using her products. So, here is the weekly roundup of all things Rachael Ray, with a few TV show reviews by bloggers thrown in for good measure.

Don't forget that Rachael is being featured on 20/20 tonight! Here's the Roundup:

  • Merri at Merri Musings puts in her two cents on Rachael Ray's new talk show.
  • Juliette Rossant at Super Chef Blog offers her opinion on Rachael Ray's competition.
  • Cate at Sweetnicks is back with a recipe for Rachael Ray's Chimichurri Chicken Bites. She said it was very simple to make and packed with flavor. Rachael's Lavosh Pizza with Smoked Mozzarella with Prosciutto "was fine, don't get me wrong, just not a wow, particularly given the expense of the ingredients." Cate also commented on Rachael's quest for world domination. Oh, yeah. Finally, Cate was a superstar and tried a couple recipes from Rachael's first show. Results were good! Who knew Charlie Gibson could cook?
  • Fosco is back in the Roundup with another test of a Rachael Ray pick in San Francisco. I was there last weekend and really wanted to try this place, but it just didn't happen. Next time I will make sure to get there!
  • Mike at TV Food Fan is making some serious allegations about Rachael Ray. I kid! But he did write a really funny post. Go read it.
  • Wes over at Cooking Fanatics offers a great post entitled: 7 Things I've Learned From Watching Rachael Ray.
  • Jessica at Food TV and Me tried Rachael's Iceberg Lettuce Chopped Salad with "French" Dressing and wasn't wowed. I think of that recipe as a side, not a entree, but maybe with some grilled chicken or steak it might have been better? Jessica - let me pick things for you to try!
  • The Feed poses a very interesting question. I'd pick Rachael every day and twice on Sunday.
  • TV Envy offers a review of Rachael Ray's new talk show and compares it to Megan Mullally's new talk show. Not a fan.
  • JRS over at Food Network Addict puts his usual comical spin on his review of Rachael Ray's show. I love the graphics he makes - perfect for Friday reading (and everyday of the week, for that matter!).
  • A Taste of Home tried Rachael's Moroccan Beef Patties with cous cous and it was a keeper. The picture certainly looks appetizing.
  • Seriously, Milbarge, I understand. It's hard being right all the time. It's the burden we must bear. All kidding aside, I agree with Milbarge of Begging the Question that Rachael's show will continue to be a big hit. (Keeping fingers crossed.)

  1. I am, in fact, a guy. I'm not purposely trying to be ambiguous; maybe my love for Dave threw you off:-)

  2. Tee hee. Specifically, I think it was the love of Dave in his boxers that threw me off. ;)

    I will change it!

  3. Have you heard of Television Without Pity? A lot of people like her, but she's snarked on a LOT. (well, it's a snark site.) I am sure it has a lot to do with her energetic attitude!

  4. I am a reality tv addict, so I love Television Without Pity? And the snark is the reason to go there! People there don't seem to be super mean though, which is good.

  5. I'd love for you to pick something of Rachael's for me to try! Just send me a suggestion and I'll attempt to make it, then post it! I picked the salad mostly because I was too tired to make anything else. Of all my attempts, that's the laziest attept to date.

  6. Jessica - Oh my gosh - the pressure! I will have to think of something good. The first things that come to mind are (1) Garlic Roast Chicken with Rosemary and Lemon (2) Italian Mac and Cheese, and (3) Green Minestrone.
