I have been cooking Rachael Ray recipes since about 2003. I also learned to cook in 2003. Coincidence? Nope. The first thing I ever made that wasn't out of a box or the freezer was a Rachael Ray recipe (Country Captain Chicken) and I have been making her recipes ever since. Every time I try a recipe from another cookbook author, I am disappointed, it takes too long, or it's beyond my skill level (doesn't take much).
I started this blog after I got tired of sharing Rachael Ray recipes with friends who didn't cook. They were kind enough to feign interest, but it started me thinking that other people might be as interested in Rachael Ray recipes as I was. And the blog was born!
This site covers all things Rachael Ray, including her cookbooks, talk show, Food Network shows, appearances and news. Instead of posting a Hall of Fame on the side of my fridge, I now label great recipes as "It's a Keeper" and so-so recipes as "Yum, But Not Yum-o" and I post my reviews of those recipes here. If I ever make a Rachael Ray recipe that really stinks, I will have to come up with a new category for it. Believe it or not, it hasn't happened to me yet.
In real life I am a lawyer, but not your lawyer, so don't ask me any legal questions! I work for a small firm and I love it. And yes, my boss reads this blog, mostly to make fun of me. I live in Northern California, near Sacramento, with my husband and imaginary cats (I'm allergic, but if I wasn't, I would have like 10 cats).

Everything Rachael Ray is not an official Rachael Ray website. In fact, Rachael Ray is not involved in any way with this site. She probably doesn't even know it exists. So, unfortunately, I cannot get in touch with Rachael Ray for you. I recommend contacting her through her talk show.
I stumbled upon your blog a few weeks back & check it daily.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the background on how it got started.
Her recipes are pretty easy & I am not cook by any means.
Keep up the great work on the blog!
Thanks, Meghan. That's very kind of you. I am glad you like reading it because I like writing it!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your site and I enjoy reading about Rachael and how other people like making her recipes, etc. Thanks so much for linking to my Eating Well on Dialysis site.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Le Anne and you are welcome for the link. Your recipes are a great example of what Rachael says - she is sometimes teaching a method, not just a recipe. Thanks for your sharing your experience with her recipes.
ReplyDeleteyou are so cute! this is such a great about page. i love your site. it's nice that there's a food related site dedicated to one thing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rachel!
ReplyDeleteHey Maddy!
ReplyDeleteIt's your long-lost friend Christina. Jen told me about your blog and I love it. I just had a baby boy and so I now watch Rachael Ray's talk show during the day while I feed my little guy. Great stuff. Keep up the good work here. I promise to stop by often. :)

Hey Christina! I'm so glad Jen sent you the link. Small world, huh? And congrats on the new baby - I saw pictures and he is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI got my feet wet with Rachael's 30 Minute Meals too. Nice blog, and thanks for sharing ours!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy. It's my pleasure!
ReplyDeleteI love the Pumpkin Pie Martinis! Now, do you have suggestions for Thanksgiving... wine and beer are no-brainers, but any holiday cocktails from Rachael Ray?
ReplyDeleteHey Flannery!
ReplyDeleteI definitley do a Thanksgiving post, complete with martinis! I'm glad you liked them because we really couldn't decide which ones to do.
Thanks for your blog and all the work you do to share Rachael's work :) She keeps me from starving too!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Ann, and thanks for reading!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the webite. I think you did a great job. I am a huge Rachael Ray fan and I can't wait to visit your site again and again.

Thanks, Stacy!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that odd things are a foot with www.VintageStoves.com owner, Stevan Thomas Radakovich, the stove restorer/supplier for The Raphael Ray programs. For over a year now this man has swindled consumers (myself included), promising stove restorations that never existed. His exploits have been so much publicized recently that his company credit has been taken off the"Tour the Set" section of rachaelrayshow.com.

Hey Madeline! Wow! what a cute little site for rachel ray. i've always gotten her magazine and watched her show, but never cooked any of her recipies. now im going to have to try it for myself.
ReplyDeleteI HAVE BEEN A FAN FOR A LONG TIME TOO! tHAT IS WHY i WANTED TO POST THIS JUST TO INFORM EVERYONE IN CASE ANYONE HERE WAS THINKING OF VISITING THE RACHEL RAY SHOW. I HAD TICKETS FOR SEPT 12TH. ON SEPT 11 THEY SENT ME AN EMAIL AND TOLD ME THE SHOW WAS CANCELED FOR THAT DAY AND TO COME ANOTHER DAY. SO THEY SENT ME TICKETS TO YESTERDAYS SHOW - OCT 8. THE TICKETS SAID 10:15 BUT THEY ADVISE YOU TO GET THERE EARLY. WE GOT TO THE STUDIO AT 9:00, BY THE TIME WE GOT THERE, THE LINE WAS ALREADY ALMOST A FULL CITY BLOCK LONG. WE WAITED IN THAT LINE FOR OVER AN HOUR AS SHOW EMPLOYED PICKED PEOPLE OUT OF THE LINE. THERE WAS NO "FIRST COME FIRST SERVED' POLICY HERE. I DO NOT THINK IT WAS BASED ON APPEARANCE AS WE WERE DRESSED VERY NICELY AND SO WERE THE PEOPLE IN FRONT OF US. AFTER ABOUT 1.5 HRS THEY HANDED EVERYONE A PREPRINTED FLYER WITH AN EMAIL ADDRESS AND TOLD US TO "EMAIL THEM FOR TICKETS TO ANOTHER SHOW. SORRY. GOODBYE"
ReplyDeleteI WAS SO UPSET. wE GOT UP AT 5 AM, PAY $54 IN BUS AND TAXI FARE ONLY TO WAIT IN LINE FOR AN HR AND THEN GET SENT HOME.
AND WHEN i TELL YOU a lot OF PEOPLE WERE SENT HOME. THERE WERE DEFINITELY MORE PEOPLE SENT HOME THAN GOT INTO THE SHOW. SO THEY DO NOT OVER BOOK A LITTLE - THEY OVERBOOK a lot.
i HAVE VISITED "THE VIEW" SEVERAL TIMES AND IT IS NOTHING LIKE THIS. IT IS VERY ORGANIZED AND RESPECTFUL AND CONSIDERATE.
IF YOU ARE THINKING OF COMING TO nyc TO SEE RACHEL RAY - DON'T - SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY - DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - WATCH HER AT HOME!!!
tHANKS AGAIN, I JUST WOULD HATE TO SEE OTHER PEOPLE GET DISAPPOINTED LIKE i DID.
THANKS
Who is it who sings in the promotion of Rachael? something with "I don 't care"
ReplyDeleteThis is going to sound like a strange question...how long has Reynolds Wrap and other coverings i.e. Wax paper, Saran wrap, had sides that indent to hold the cylinders in place. My co-worker states it has been there for ever, I doubt that. Thanks, Fonda Wetmore

Hi there...I really enjoy your blog and check back often for new updates! I'm wondering if you can help me with a specific question -- in the Aug 2008 issue there was an article on baby showers. I just have a quick question about that article if you still have the issue. Thanks!
ReplyDelete~ jillian
Hi Jillian,
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to all the info on that baby shower article: http://www.rachaelraymag.com/party-planning/easy-parties/special-parties/baby-shower/article.html.
I hope that helps!
Hi Madeline,
ReplyDeleteI stumbled onto your blog today while working(shhh...)and I too have learned to cook from Rachael. Back in the day people refered to me as Betty Crocker's daughter because the only thing I could/would cook came from a box and/or a can.
When my last child went away to college I found myself w/time on my hands. Not realizing what was happening I began watching the food network and found something simple and homey w/Rachael's show. I began trying her recipes and my husband was WOWed with the results.(As wonderful of a man he is, praise is not his stong point). Like you I have yet to try any of her recipes and be disappointed.
Rachael has taught me that with a glass of wine and a chefs knife...I am creative!!!
Thanks for blogging and I will visit often.
Karen :)
Hey! Hope you keep up the blog. I love to cook and regardless of websites, cookbooks or Martha Stewart, almost every night dinner is thanks to Rachael Ray. It's just that good. It was fun to find you by googling one of her recipes!
ReplyDeleteI just happened to see this site on one of my random internet searches on the web...I thought it was really cool because I happen to be a big fan of food network... My sister is constantly nagging me about turning it off but that is not going to happen. Well, recently I found this site called Charity Folks and they are auctioning off jeans worn by Rahcael as well as a Green Nieves Lavi Dress by her and thought it might interest ya'll.
