Sacramento Food Bloggers Potluck

What happens when you get a whole bunch of food bloggers and put them in one room? Good lord - there's food! Way too much food and all of it is yummy.

The event, hosted by Garrett at Vanilla Garlic, was a blast. It was so fun to meet fellow food bloggers and to be around other people that take pictures of their food before they eat it. I was really stressed about what to bring because what on earth is good enough for a room full of foodies (especially when you are still learning how to cook)? I went with my go-to appetizer: Pesto Torta.

Cakegrrl was kind enough to post a picture of my dish and of all the other amazingly good food that was brought. Bloggers in attendance included the writers of the following blogs:

Did I forget anyone? I posted my tweaks to the recipe over at the Sacramento Food Group. If you can't think of something to bring to a party - bring this!

  1. Looks like fun. You got to meet Elise, I love her blog as well. I am jealous, there is only one blogger(that i know of) on island. Ah...well...we're not gonna be here forever.

I am watching that show right now--Day to Day with Rachael Ray. Last time I saw it, it was on weddings. Today from what I can tell it's about dating/match making, she's taking a couple from the audience and sending them on a date together. Did you ever find out anything about it? I still can't find it....Anyhow, let us know if you figure it out!

Found something. What do you know? I'm not crazy....

But now, what's up with it? I'm sure it's not her normal talk show(but I haven't seen it). It doesn't look anything like the set on her syndicated show.

  3. How fun! Glad you guys all got to meet, too bad I'm not in Cali anymore! If my mom moves to Sac I'll send her for me next time. LOL! Just kidding.

And BTW, I reviewed the stuffed french toast recipe finally!

  4. It was a blast meeting you. I still feel jealous of your insane Mason's patronage. LOL. Tasty dish you brought by the way!

  5. Carla - yes, I finally got it on my TiVo. It looks like a pilot or test for a RR talk show. I am going to do some digging around and see what I can find out about it.

I will definitely include your french toast review in this week's roundup - I am bummed it didn't turn out well!

  8. It turned out fine, just I didn't care for it. It's too rich for my tastes!

  9. Carla - You should feel special that you are the only one! And I am glad to know that you aren't crazy, too. I never found out anything about it on my own but you and another reader have tracked down some information on it that I plan to post this week! What would I do without you guys?

  11. Thanks, Elise. It was wonderful to meet you, too. I passed your Persimmon Pudding Cake recipe on to my boss, so thanks for helping me earn bonus points.
