Rachael Ray's Good Deed

Rachael Ray's talk show is making national news and the gossip pages for its most recent good deed - throwing a prom for the Alabama high school that lost 8 students to a tornado. Rachael planned the menu for the prom dinner and even went to help prepare it herself. She also attended a school assembly, paid for the dance and will feature it in an episode that will air later this month.

Rachael issued a statement about the event, saying: "The students of Enterprise High are so courageous, given all that they've gone through. When I heard about what happened to their school and classmates, we wanted to help. The prom was all about celebrating their accomplishments and honoring the classmates who tragically lost their lives," she said.

The "Caught in a Moment" theme for the dance included pictures around the dance floor of the two seniors killed by the tornado, Jamie Vidensek and Michael Tompkins.

As my Uncle said in the comments to Friday's Roundup, Rachael Ray certainly walks the walk. How refreshing! Although, I have a feeling that this was one of those gifts that left the giver with as much satisfaction as the recipients.
