August Issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray

Finally - a new issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray! After a single issue for June-July, the magazine is back to once a month for August. Everyone needs a vacation now and then, so I guess we'll forgive them for making us wait so long for some new recipes to try.

The On Hand section includes recipe for breakfast foods that can be made with five ingredients. In Well Equipped, the magazine tests dozens of blenders to find the best one (perfect for those hot summer day frozen cocktails). In Kitchen Fix, the magazine takes us on a tour of its new, state-of-the-art kitchen.

The Recipe Makeover feature includes an update of chicken enchiladas. In Have Your Way With . . . , we get easy recipes for summer tomatoes. Kids (or adults who are kids at heart) can learn how to make poodle pancakes.

My favorite section of the magazine, the 30-Minute Meals, focuses on fast seafood suppers. You'll find recipes for Millionaire Rotisserie Chicken Salad, Sloppy Cubanos, Deviled Chicken and Grilled Stone Fruit, Bay and Lemon Shrimp Skewers with Olive Couscous, Crispy Prosciutto-Wrapped Cod and Asparagus Salad, Soy-Ginger Grilled Salmon and Napa Sesame Slaw, Tarragon-Tomato Fish, and Tilapia "Clubs".

The weekly menu planner, which is a pullout section of the magazine with an entire week's worth of meals and a shopping list, features recipes for Grilled Beef Kebabs with Yogurt Sauce, Five-Spice Coconut Chicken, Corn Avocado Soup with Cheesy Toasts, Toasted-Bread Salad with Salami, Fiery Roast Turkey Sandwiches, Pepper-Packed Pasta Salad, and Sweet-and-Sour Tuna Steaks.

The No-Recipe Zone features a quick and easy lasagna recipe from the magazine's Editor, Silvana Nardone. Since it may be too hot in your house to turn on the oven to bake a lasagna right now, check out the Burger of the Month, which is Middle Eastern Lamb Burgers.

The entertaining section of the magazine, GET TOGETHER, features a modern tea party, with recipes for Green Tea Salad, Chicken-Sesame Tea Sandwiches, Cucumber-Mint Tea Sandwiches, Almond Lemon Cookies, Green Tea Champagne, Lavender Tea Lemonade, and Rosy Iced Tea.

One of my favorite TV personalities (other than Rachael Ray), Cesar Milan (aka the Dog Whisperer), throws a party with Cesar Deviled Eggs Dog Days Dip with Veggie Spears, Crab Dogs, Banana Pupcakes, and Bacon-Rice Patties.

Everyone's always looking for new chicken recipes, so this will come in handy. The Dress-Up Dinner feature offers recipes for creating a French-style dinner around chicken: Green Bean Frites, Chicken Niçoise Chopped Salad, Green Salad with Torn Croutons, Chicken Provençale, Orange Cookies with Strawberry Ice Cream, Strawberries and Cream Napoleons, and Lillet Slushes.

This month's travel section offers a trip to Cape Cod with Novelist Jennifer Weiner and an introduction to Montana's hottest river guides are always up for an adventure. Plus, learn about the mysteries of a fair favorite - Funnel Cake.

  3. Anony - I saw that when I was hunting around for the stuff on the new issue. It does look very cool and I'll have a post about it soon!

The magazine site also has an RSS feed that I subscribe too, which helps to keep up with the new content. It's on my Google homepage and I highly recommned it to RR fans.

  5. I think you meant new issue instead of nice issue. If that is what you meant, then I completely agree with you!
