One of my cooking quests is to focus more on cooking using ingredients that are in season. Since I live in California, this is turning out to be a fun challenge. There are several Farmers Markets I can visit to pick up the really fresh stuff (although, I think my husband is getting tired of green beans, but they look so good every week!).
Here are a few Rachael Ray recipes that take advantage of all the great summer produce out there:
- Baked Beets
- Berry-Mi-Su
- Star Anise Blackberries with Lemon Sorbet
- Ginger-Poached Pears with Ice Cream and Blueberries
- Chili-Garlic Roasted Broccoli (my favorite broccoli recipe ever)
- Jalapeno-Lime Corn on The Cob
- Tomato, Onion, and Cucumber Salad
- Super Eggplant Subs
- Southern Green Beans (a holiday staple in our house)
- Sesame Green Beans (watch out, they are addictive)
- Zucchini with Mint and Parsley (scroll down for the recipe)
- White Sangria
