According to MSNBC, Rachael Ray's talk show has been sued by its acocuntant. The lawsuit asks for $1 million on the grounds that he was forced out of his job because he had an eating disorder. Now, I don't want to joke about eating disorders, so I'm just going to walk away from all the jokes about a food addict going to work on a food-centric talk show.
The accountant is named Aaron Ferguson. He stated that he has had anorexia for about six years. Apparently, "He claimed his supervisor repeatedly exhibited 'hostile behavior' and made 'vile,' discriminatory and hurtful comments." Some examples: "The comments included, 'Anorexics are sick in the head,' and, 'Anorexics should not be able to work, his court papers say."
CBS hasn't offered any comment on the lawsuit.
Now, all those silly tabloids are going to be running around saying Rachael Ray got sued by her accountant. Those of you who read this blog will know that's not true! In fact, Rachael Ray's talk show was sued by its accountant. May seem like a trivial distinction, but if you were the one involved, wouldn't you think it was important? Rachael was not personally named in the suit.
